Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana (MMCSBY)

Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme also known as Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana is launched by the Rajasthan government and offers health insurance of Rs. 10 lakh to every family. From 1st May 2021, this universal health scheme is available to all the families of Rajasthan. According to statistics, so far more than 12 lakh people have availed the benefits of this scheme.

Initially, the medical coverage amounted to Rs. 5 lakh, which has now been increased to Rs. 10 lakh in the latest budget with an additional accidental cover worth Rs. 5 Lakh. Apart from this, medical treatments like heart transplants, bone marrow, and liver transplants have been added to the scheme.

SECC 2011 registered beneficiaries do not have to register for the scheme, whereas other beneficiaries such as contract workers, and small and marginal farmers can register on the E-Mitra app. To register for the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme, applicants can visit sso.rajasthan.gov.in.

Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana

  • Eligible candidates can avail the benefits of cashless treatment in both government and private hospitals.
  • Small/marginal farmers as well as contractual laborers are also covered under this scheme free of cost.
  • Other families who do not fall under the eligible category can get the benefit of the scheme by paying an annual premium of Rs. 850.
  • The state government will pay a premium for families under Below Poverty Line, National Food Security Act (NFSA), and the Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC 2011).
  • Families with women as heads eligible under the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance scheme will be given smartphones with free internet connectivity for 3 years.
  • The insurance premiums for all beneficiaries worth Rs. 3500 crores will be paid by the government.
  • Beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Mahatma Gandhi Swasthya Bima Yojana can also avail themselves of the benefits of this scheme.
  • In addition to major medical treatments, the scheme also provides coverage for Covid19 care and haemodialysis to the poor.

The Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme is initiated with the objective to provide medical financial assistance to all the residents of Rajasthan. Following are some of the benefits offered under this scheme:

  • MMCSBY is the first health insurance initiative from the Rajasthan Government that offers cashless treatment in-network hospitals.
  • The health insurance scheme covers more than 1576 medical tests.
  • Coverage for many diseases is provided under this scheme, along with medical expenses, and related packages post-hospitalization.

Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme or MMCSBY Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Rajasthan.
  • All families, other than scheme beneficiaries applying for the MMCSBY need to pay an annual premium of Rs. 850 to avail of coverage benefits.  
  • Families can be covered under MMCSBY by simply applying for it online.
  • SECC 2011 registered families, NFSA card holders, small & marginal farmers, and Samvida workers along with all other families are eligible to get the benefits of this scheme.

  • Using your ID and password, log in and open the dashboard.
  • You will get both free and paid health insurance options.
  • Click on the insurance policy application as per your eligible category and fill it out.
  • After successfully filling out the application take a print of it.

  • Log in to the SSO portal using your ID and password. You can also retrieve the data in case you forgot it.
  • Once, logged in on the website, open the dashboard.
  • Fill out the application form for the MMCSBY scheme with all the required documents.
  • Review the filled details and submit the application.
  • After successful submission, take a screenshot or a printout of the application form.

How to Track the Status of the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme (MMCSBY)?

Once the application form is submitted for the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme, the concerned authorities will assess and verify the same. After successful verification of the application, the applicant will receive a status link, which will get activated in their dashboard. With the help of this link, you will be able to check the status of your application form online or at which stage of the process you are on.
